THE BAND
SHAWN FOY
LEAD SINGER
Growing up in Minnesota with parents that always had a diverse array of music always playing, Shawn became obsessed with music at a very young age. In his youth, he spent many years singing in choirs and had a professional vocal coach. He sang with a number of traveling choirs, various musical groups and Rock and Roll bands. He has been blessed to win a number of singing competitions. While living in Orange County, California, Shawn was the singer in a duo group performing a wide variety of song’s and styles in both public and private establishments. For a variety of reasons, after much thought, prayer and soul searching Shawn and his wife Maureen decided to leave California. Within a couple of months of moving to the Fort Myer’s area Shawn was itching to sing with a band again. Through connecting on Craig’s List Shawn auditioned for One80 Band to be their Lead Singer in 2018.
TRISTA LANE
LEAD SINGER
Singing in some capacity since she could talk, Trista’s mother recalls her singing Madonna’s “Lucky Star” at the age of 2! Trista grew up in the quiet country suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. “There were more farms than kids to play with on our road. So, my sister and I spent hours with my parents extensive collection of 45 records and a vintage record player learning how to sing like all the amazing vocalists of the past.” She occasionally sang in children’s Christmas choirs at church, and landed a small high school musical role when she was overheard singing in the hallway by the chorus teacher. Throughout college and her 20s she became everyone’s favorite Cher, Stevie Nicks, or Miranda Lambert on karaoke night with friends.
It had always been a dream of Trista’s to live by the beach. Getting sick of being locked indoors during 2020, she and her fiance moved to Naples in 2021 for a fresh start. Singing karaoke one night on Marco Island, someone suggested she go to an open mic night. Extremely nervous, with no formal training, never rehearsing with anyone, she took the stage at The Boardroom Tavern in front of a packed snowbird crowd and totally rocked a 90s classic country ballad. Within a few months she was singing on stage with several local bands, and recently became the newest member of the band.
JOHNNY WOHN
BASS PLAYER/ LEAD SINGER
Johnny is the bass player/vocals and original member of the One80 Band. He is originally from NYC and has been playing bass and guitar since his early teens. In the 80's, he formed Niteout, which was successful in many of the Tri State area dance clubs playing the best of 80's New Wave music. Moving to Naples Florida full time in 2017, Johnny quickly started looking for a band that he could join or create hoping to revive the 80's dance and sound movement which he enjoyed playing years ago.. became successful for many years after! He is an original member of One80 Band. In early 2021, he took over as band leader, reevaluated the band and found a talented group of like-minded musicians, singers and a sound engineer who all believes in the same musical goals. Forming the new and improved One80 Band!
JIM MINIX
DRUMMER
Jim is from Sacramento, California where he learned how to play drums from a friend. “My buddy, Kim Wilhelm, showed me the basics but I didn’t have any drums yet so I was that annoying kid banging on everybody’s dashboard or table or whatever was handy at the time.” At his first concert Jim saw Tommy Aldridge playing with Pat Travers at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium and was hooked. “Tommy did a solo, threw his sticks out to the crowd, then did another solo with his hands!! That was all I needed to see, I knew I could never be in a band where someone else was the drummer. Jim has been one of the original members of One80 Band since 2019. Crowds always love seeing the band in full performance mode, and One80 Band couldn’t be happier to have such an incredible drummer up on stage!
